"You won't see recognizable techniques in actual fighting or sparring because Wing Chun is a concept-based system, not a technique-based system. Techniques, patterns and isolated drills are for learning and training. They are the building blocks that help you understand and use the concepts needed for fighting. The underlying concepts behind the drills, patterns and techniques are body structure, position, leverage, control, awareness, angles, energy, momentum, distance and timing."
