Announcing the opening of our new Wing Chun School in Irvine, CA!
Located in Irvine, CA, not far from Lake Forest and Foothill Ranch, our new school, The Dragon Institute - Irvine, is now accepting students. Wing Chun Classes for adults as well as classes for kids (ages 5 and up) are offered.
Wing Chun is a martial art known for its close-quarters hand-to-hand combat effectiveness. It is based on the idea that a smaller, weaker person can effectively defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper position, tactile awareness, leverage, and most notably, dominating the attacker's center through strikes, grappling and trapping maneuvers.
Wing Chun is separated from other types of martial arts by important differences: (1) it does not participate in competition, choosing to instead specialize in self-defense, (2) it also acts meditation and as a qigong health practice, (3) it is a method of building character and leadership in young people (4) it is a way of success - its underlying philosophies help become more efficient and effective
