The much awaited sequel to Ip Man hits Hong Kong theaters on April 29th. The first film received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences. The film grossed over US$21 million worldwide, despite not being released in North America and most of Europe. Following its success, Ip Man was nominated for 12 Hong Kong Film Awards, winning awards for Best Film and Best Action Choreography.

Based on the life of the kung fu master of Bruce Lee who is also credited with being the first person to teach the art of Wing Chun publicly, Ip Man 2 picks up after the events of the first film. The sequel centers on Ip's move to Hong Kong from mainland China as he attempts to further the art of Wing Chun.

Today, Wing Chun is practiced globally in over 64 countries with more than 2 million practitioners worldwide. Known for its street effectiveness and specialty in close-quarters combat, it is now the world's most popular form of kung fu.
