Sifu Adam Williss is an Orange County-based martial artist. He's made it his mission to empower individuals from all walks of life with the physical, mental and life-balancing benefits of martial arts. He delivers on his mission as the owner of The Dragon Institute, Orange County's first educational facility dedicated to the art of Wing Chun.
Since beginning his martial arts journey into the art of Wing Chun 17 years ago, Sifu Adam has empowered and educated people of all ages. He has trained numerous professionals, athletes and corporate executives. Sifu Adam is a self-defense instructor to groups ranging from employees of large corporations to university students. He has improved the lives of victims of bullying through Wing Chun's highly effective self-defense approach and mindset. Sifu Adam has brought the unique personal developmental benefits of Wing Chun to recovering drug addicts, alcoholics and stroke victims. His work has been featured in several publications both online and in print.
Sifu Adam has the honor of being given instructor status under Florida Wing Chun expert, Sifu Bill Graves. As one of Sifu Bill's top senior students having trained with him beginning in 1995, Sifu Adam is humbled to be among the few instructors in the world that Sifu Bill has certified to teach his martial arts methods. Sifu Bill's teacher for the last 30+ years is Florida Wing Chun master Karl Godwin of the Leung Sheung lineage.
Although Sifu Adam has chosen to dedicate his life to the art of Wing Chun as given to him by his Sifu Bill Graves, he has also trained and studied other martial arts including Chen style Tai Chi Chuan & Silk Reeling Qigong (Chan Ssu Chin), other Wing Chun lineages, Jeet Kune Do concepts, Boxing, Classical Pugilism / Bare-Knuckle Boxing, Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Muay Thai.
Sifu Adam serves in top positions of several associations, however he is most proud to act as his Sifu's state of California representative for The System Wing Chun Gung Fu This line of Wing Chun is referred to as Florida Wing Chun and is a branch of the Leung Sheung lineage.
Other positions and associations: Sifu Adam is an official lineage holder of the World Leung Sheung Lineage Association and his academy, The Dragon Institute, is Orange County's affiliate school. Sifu Adam was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2010. He is the founder and president of the American Wing Chun Association and director for its state affiliate, the California Wing Chun Association. Sifu Adam is a volunteer advocate of the National Association of People Against Bullying, providing self-defense services to victims. He is the director of public relations a state representative for the World Ving Tsun Athletic Association. an Associate Member of the International Kung Fu Federation, Life Member of the United States Martial Arts Association, member of the Independent Martial Arts Association, International Combat Martial Arts Unions Association, United States Kuo Shu Federation, Ving Tsun Athletic Association of Hong Kong, National Qigong/Chi Kung Association and more.
